Founded in 2006 Giving Back to Parker
The Parker Area Community Foundation got its start with funds from the Parker Medical Association. Many years ago a group of Parker citizens formed a group to get a medical doctor and clinic to practice in Parker. The funds they raised were used to build a medical clinic building with the Parker Chiropractic Clinic. Over time they formed a relationship with Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg and provided a building for a clinic. In 2006 the clinic was provided space in their present facility, no longer having need for a medical association. The board members decided that the funds were those of the Parker Community and they provided the beginnings of the Parker Area Community Foundation.
