$15,000 Awarded to Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School District

South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $15,000 South Dakota Fund grant to Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School District (O-R-R School). Funding will assist with funding for the preschool program. 

“The $15,000 grant awarded to the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School District preschool program will have an impact on our school community in both the long and short term,” said Dawn Hoeke, Superintendent, O-R-R School District. “In the short term, grant dollars will be used for teaching expenses, learning materials, and other supplies for our preschool programs. In the long term, it is an investment that will not only enhance learning outcomes for our youngest students, but it will also strengthen our entire school community by supporting our efforts in building a solid foundation for the future academic success of these young learners.”

O-R-R School was formed in July 2023 with the consolidation of the previous Oldham-Ramona and Rutland School Districts. O-R-R School’s preschool program is offered to all children ages three and four in the district, which spans four counties. Beginning with the preschool program, O-R-R School’s mission is to cultivate a dynamic learning environment where positive relationships thrive, students develop life-long learning skills, realize the potential of their passions, and are empowered through values that encompass honesty, integrity, and knowledge. 

“The preschool program at O-R-R School creates a strong educational foundation for young students,” says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “SDCF is proud to provide funding to help O-R-R School achieve their goals.
