August 21, 2024 // Grants, South Dakota Fund GrantsSouth Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $5,000 South Dakota Fund grant to Belle Fourche Area Community Theater. Funding will purchase rights and scripts, costumes, set construction materials and venue rental for season programming.
“Belle Fourche Area Community Theater is a small theater group with big plans,” said Derek Olson, Belle Fourche Area Community Theater Executive Director. “We are always ambitious in what we want to offer our community and area. Giant productions, small one-acts, large scale musicals, workshops and more is what we offer and being a small nonprofit, we rely on organizations like the South Dakota Community Foundation to be able to provide this programming to our volunteers, patrons, and everyone in the area. We thank the South Dakota Community Foundation so much for their generous support.”
The mission of the community theater is to stimulate, promote, teach and develop interest in the theater arts. The nonprofit strives to share in providing cultural opportunities that serve the educational and entertainment needs of the Belle Fourche community.
“By engaging the community with performing arts as audience members and participants, Belle Fourche Area Community Theatre offers opportunities for all ages. We are proud to partner with them on this project.”
