South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $5,000 South Dakota Fund grant to T4 Foundation. Funding will provide support with T4 Foundation’s efforts to provide support to those who are suffering from a loved one’s addiction and to provide drug and alcohol prevention education.

“This grant will make a meaningful impact in aiding the T4 Foundation to continue to grow addition education to youth a provide drug and alcohol-free community events. In 2024, sixty percent (60%) of youth in the Tripp, Todd, and Gregory County area sought care for alcohol and drug abuse issues,” said Baleigh Cerv, T4 Foundation President and Director. “The T4 Foundation will continue to spread awareness and provide additional resources for families and children suffering from addiction themselves or an addiction of a loved one.”

T4 Foundation’s mission is to help children whose parents or loved ones are going through active addiction. They provide education on understanding addiction and its consequences along with ways to cope and resources to stop future generations of addicts. Children who have parents or loved ones facing treatment or jail will meet with a peer specialist for emotional support. They are also given a go-bag that contains hygiene products, toys, local resources, and, if needed, grocery and gas gift cards for guardians.

“T4 Foundation’s mission to combat generational addiction is one we are proud to support,” says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “By providing children and their families prevention education, drug-free events, and a safe place for support strengthen families and help end generational addiction.”
