The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) congratulates the Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud on successfully meeting a challenge grant to raise $80,000 from supporters over a two-year period. They will now receive an additional $20,000 from the SDCF to establish a $100,000 endowment fund at the South Dakota Community Foundation. Funds will be invested, and overtime earnings will create a long-term revenue source to support that organization.

"At the Boys and Girls Club of Rosebud, we have been working hard to build financial sustainability”, said Glen Marshall, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud.  “Ever since reopening our doors in 2014, our goal has been to plan our operations in such a way that the work which we began would continue for the long term.  We believe the real impact of an organization like ours comes five, ten, and fifteen years in as youth grow up in a supportive environment with trusted adults they know they can count on.  The establishment of an endowment is a key part of our future sustainability; and achieving this match grant is really a dream come true for us.  Without the South Dakota Community Foundation, this endowment would not have become a reality for our Club.  We are extremely grateful to those who supported us in this. We plan to continue to build this fund as a key part of our sustainability strategy moving forward."

Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud exists to empower all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. They believe the key to transforming communities is empowering the potential of its youth. They are a center based, mentoring focused youth program located in Mission on the Rosebud Reservation.

The South Dakota Community Foundation has had a long-standing partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud. It is an organization that has grown and evolved and one that will make good use of the opportunities  this revenue source will afford them.
