On the Move
The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) presented a $10,000 South Dakota Fund grant to the Ipswich Tiger Post Community Education Center, Inc. Funds will support interior upgrades at their new facility.
“The funds from the South Dakota Community Foundation will allow us to equip our new facility with some new furnishings including commercial kitchen equipment and lunch tables for the students”, said Carole Curtis, Board Member, Ipswich Tiger Post Community Education Center, Inc.
The Ipswich Tiger Post is the longest running unaffiliated out-of-school time program in the state of South Dakota. The program is licensed by the State and offers both before and after school programming along with full-time summer care for school age children. There are currently 65 children enrolled in the program with their greatest daily attendance at 42. Home for the program has been a former Masonic Temple built in 1922. A new facility will provide room for expansion as the community grows.
“The South Dakota Community Foundation is proud to partner with the Ipswich Tiger Post Community Education Center, Inc. as they provide services for their area’s school age children”, said Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “It is imperative that youngsters have a safe and nurturing place to go.”
The South Dakota Fund is an unrestricted fund that makes grants in support of culture, economic development, education, health and human services.
