Our Community Savings Accounts (CSAs) help to create awesome and amazing change in our communities.
The Spearfish Community Foundation is just one of 79 communities across our state that have chosen to partner with the South Dakota Community Foundation to form a CSA. A CSA provides current, past and future residents with the opportunity to give back to their home town. Funds are invested with the SDCF and as the fund grows, so does the amount of money available to give back. Money raised in the community stays in the community; and available funds are distributed to nonprofits through grants given by local boards of directors.
Yesterday, I got the opportunity to see first- hand what a difference CSAs can make. I was invited to attend the Spearfish Community Foundation’s grant celebration. The SCF presented grants to 27 nonprofit organizations who have a presence in the Spearfish community. In the past eight years, they have awarded almost $350,000! Congratulations to the grantees and the SCF Board of Directors.
We invite you to visit our website to learn more about CSAs.
