Check presentation at Watertown Area Transit

The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) presented a $5,000 South Dakota Fund grant to Watertown Area Transit, Inc. which will help offset costs associated with expanding their fleet.

“The increased ridership Watertown Area Transit, Inc. has experienced in the past three years has made it imperative our organization purchase additional equipment”, said Terry Hoffman, Director, Watertown Area Transit, Inc. “Because of those increases and continued projected growth, these funds will significantly assist our organization with our purchase of a new van and bus.”

Watertown Area Transit, Inc. is dedicated to serving the general public within the City of Watertown and Codington County, South Dakota as well as those in need in the counties of Codington, Deuel, Hamlin and Clark. Its services are open to the public during times of operation.

“The South Dakota Community Foundation is proud to partner with Watertown Area Transit, Inc. as they provide critical services for residents in their region”, said Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “Public transportation is one of the key services that people look for when deciding either to remain in or relocate to an area.”
