Former Governor Dennis Daugaard, and his wife Linda, have given back to South Dakota in numerous ways–from serving as 32nd governor and first lady of South Dakota from 2011 to 2019, to their dedication to multiple organizations, including Children’s Home Society, Fairy Godmother’s Fund and South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) where Dennis currently serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors.
$10,348 Awarded to Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment
South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $10,348 South Dakota Fund grant to the Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment (CPM). Funding will assist the group with ceremonial dress for children at Red Shirt School, a member of the Oglala Lakota County School District.

$1.2 million Awarded from the South Dakota Community Foundation's Beyond Idea Grant (BIG) Program
Thirteen South Dakota nonprofits will receive grants totaling nearly $1.2 million from the South Dakota Community Foundation’s Beyond Idea Grant (BIG) program. Offered in partnership with the Bush Foundation, the BIG program supports community-based problem-solving efforts in South Dakota.
Bartholows Create Endowment for Huron's Future
Earlier this month, the Huron community received a boost, when longtime residents Bill and Judy Bartholow donated funds to establish the Bill and Judy Bartholow Family Fund. That donation, according to Huron Community Foundation council chairman Steve Gohn, creates the tenth such fund created in the past few years.

$10,000 awarded to St. Joseph’s Indian School
South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $10,000 South Dakota Fund grant to St. Joseph’s Indian School. Funding will aid in modernizing the Recreation Center built in 1975. This will help meet the evolving needs of the students and the community.
